William's mission in Texas with his wife Carol continues. They teach gospel lessons and minister to members of the Church. William writes of an experience where a member of the Church lost touch with reality and started lashing out violently. William's depression seems to come back to a similar degree as it was before his mission. He tries to adjust to his new quieter life at home. His sister is put in the hospital and his son Mike continues to suffer from cancer, so William and his family spend much time at the hospital. William's physical pain worsens.
