Typescript of an interview taken from the included reel-to-reel sound tape. Rod Kimball was interviewed by Edwin Kimball, his older brother. Rod talks about his early life, mentions his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints to Germany in the early 1930s, and discusses his experiences as a student at Brigham Young University in 1933.

The correspondence is generally family news with a few business letters, two missionary letters from Wales and a description of Mattie Isgreen's travel in Hawaii. Also included are an invitation to a ball, 1896, the Democratic ticket for Provo, Utah, ca. 1900, and a thought on prayer.

Ishimoto discusses her conversion to and membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, along with detailing her Church community. She tells about her family, the family business, her goals in religious worship and education, and current events, including her life in Hawaii as a Japanese citizen during World War II. Dated November 1945.
