Scope and Contents
The Lloyd Oscar Ivie Records contain the following: 1. Notebook, 6.5 by 8.25 inches, entitled Bible Questions: Sept 27, 1911. Lloyd Ivie. Entries start from the opposite end of the book. They are written in what is probably phonetic Japanese. Entries take up 11 of the 30 pages in the notebook.
2. Photograph of eleven adults and one infant, 5 by 7 inches. Attached note says "Front Row: L-R: Hilton Robertson, Hazel Roberston, Lloyd Ivie, Baby Ruth Ivie, Nora Ivie, DeLoss Holley. Back Row: L-R: Erwin T. Hicken, Ernest B. Woodward, Howard Jensen, Orlando Fowler, Aldo Stevens, Irwin Davies. Lloyd Ivie Pres. 1921-1924."
3. Photograph of three missionaries, one woman and fifty children. Attached noted says "st Japan Mission of Lloyd O Ovie, far right. He served from approx 1909-1914. Other two elders unknown".
4. Packet tied with string, 9 pages long, with Japanese characters in pencil. One loose page with more characters.
5. Japan Mission Conference Calendar, 1923. 9.5 by 12.5 inches. 3 pages.
6. Monthly Mission Financial records, 1923. Labels of yearly records say (original spelling preserved), "Mission Revenues," "President's Maintenance," "President's Travelling Expence," "President's Family Maintenance" (two records), "Mission House Maintenance," "Mission Office Maintenance," "Conference Maintenance," "Other Mission Expense," "Cash Balance," and "Mission President's Maintenance."

Biographical History
Lloyd Oscar Ivie (1890-1967) was the President of the Japan Mission.
Lloyd Oscar Ivie was born to James Oscar Ivie and Annie Catherine Mortensen on October 9, 1890, in Salina, Sevier County, Utah. He served his first mission to Japan circa 1909-1914. He married Nora Blamires on December 24, 1920, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the President of the Japan Mission circa 1921-1924. Some of his children were born during his second mission. In all, Lloyd and Nora Ivie had six children: Ruth Tomoe (1921-1948), Janet Chie (1923-1924) and four still recorded as living in 2007. Lloyd O. Ivie passed away on May 7, 1967, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
