The lost gold mine of Thomas Rhoades / Mark Croshaw, 2008
This project is a collection of stories and legends about a Spanish gold mine said to be found in the Uinta mountains in Utah. The analysis comments on how the Thomas Rhoades legend has grown out of Mormon experience and culture, as well as a combination of important historical figures and Mormon history. Items collected are based on interviews with two informants and three internet and newspaper articles. Collected by Mark Crowhaw, Dr. Rudy's ENGL 392 class, Fall 2008.

Hale collected the early life history of her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Bair Johnson Hale. Included are stories of her childhood and parents, her memories of Coke and hostess cupcakes when they had real cream inside, and memories of school and her courtship and marriage at 19 to Ellsworth Hunter Hale. The project was written for a folklore English class taught at Brigham Young University in 1997.

Discusses the challenges of making a new family. Explains that each person in a marriage comes from a very different background in terms of personality and family upbringing. Specifically discusses birth order, personality traits, and family traditions as potential challenges spouses must overcome in having a successful marriage and creating a family of their own. Created by Rachel Whipple while she was enrolled in Jill Terry Rudy's English 392 class during Winter Semester 2002.

McPherson collected personal narratives from her father, Oliver McPherson. Included are stories of stealing comics from a store as a boy and getting caught, finding out his slovenly friend was the son of a millionaire, and getting his bull whip chewed up by a tractor. The project was written for Dr. Rudy's English 391 class taught at Brigham Young University in 1997.

This project is a collection of legends at Brigham Young University. The analysis comments on the unique culture at BYU, including religious beliefs and its label of being "a bubble" from the outside world. The collector discusses how the legends correspond to the basic functions of folklore. Items include supposed expulsions for honor code violation, curfew infractions, bulimic students, and others. Collected by Andrea Scott, Dr. Eliason's ENGL 391 class, Fall 2004.
