 Item — Box: 319, Folder: 7
Identifier: FA 1 Item 3544

Scope and Contents note

Boogert discusses the role that songs play in the experience of camping, particularly that of Camp Rim, organized and run by the Girl Scouts of America. Boogert shares the folksongs collected from various informants through the categories of chants, repeat songs, graces, quiet songs and active songs. These songs, Boogert argues, are used to create an essential environment of comfort and unity, aiding in an overall pleasant and memorable experience. Created by Heidi Boogert while enrolled in English 391 class during fall semester of 2003.
