Ole H. Berg biographies

Typewritten biographies and an autobiography. Jenkins writes a biography of Ole Hendrick Berg (1840-1919). Berg was a convert to the Mormon Church in Norwary who migrated to Utah in 1866. He settled in St. George, Utah. Also included is a two-page autobiography by Berg written in 1892.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten autobiography and diary. Bigler wrote about his early life from 1815 to 1846 when his diary began. He was born in West Virginia, had encounters with Indians in that state, and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1837. He moved to Far West, Missouri, in 1838; met Joseph Smith, the first president of the Mormon Church; suffered persecutions in Missouri; moved to Qunicy, Illinois, in 1839; and served on a mission for the...

Ada Pearl Boren diaries

Handwritten diaries, one letter received, and lists. The journal entries start on 16 Feb. 1928 and go to 3 Sept. 1935. The lists record titles of movies Boren saw and the names of boys she dated. The letter is a love letter signed by "Charlie." The diary is primarily about Boren's social life.

James Lovett Bunting diaries and Bunting family directory

Photocopies of the handwritten Bunting diaries (MSS 738). The originals have been restricted and are unavailable for patron use. The diaries include accounts of missionary work in Great Britain for the Mormon faith and describe life in Kanab and St. George, Utah. The diaries cover the years from 1857 to 1920 but have several gaps. Also included is a Bunting family directory from the year 1968.

Biographical sketch of William Carter

Typewritten biography. Also included is a typewritten poem by Johnson. William Carter was a Mormon who lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, migrated to Utah in 1847, and lived in Salt Lake City and later in St. George, Utah. He was a polygamist who spent time in the Utah penitentiary for bigamy.

William John Benbow Carter diaries

Photocopies of handwritten diaries, certificates, patriarchal blessings, and biographies. The diaries were kept while Carter served on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England and while he lived in St. George, Utah. The biographies are of family members.
