Reuben McBride diary

Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a handwritten diary. McBride left on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the spring of 1857, and he went with a handcart company to the east. He later got passage to England where he served his mission.

Peter McIntyre autobiography

Scope and Contents Typewritten copy of an autobiography. McIntyre served in the British Army in Spain and France during the Napoleonic Wars. He was also sent to the United States to fight Americans in 1815. After the war, he returned to Scotland. He later heard Mormon missionaries preach and was converted to their faith around the year 1841. Handwritten autobiography. Merrill lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, as a young boy. He migrated to Utah in 1852 and lived in Provo, Salt Lake City, Bear Lake Valley, Cove Creek, and Fillmore, Utah. He also participated in the "Utah War" of 1857 to 1858.

David Moore diary, autobiography, and history

Typewritten copies of diaries, an autobiography, and a history. The diaries include an "Abridged History of the Salmon River Mission" which is Moore's journal for 1855 when he was serving in the mission. Also included are "Items of History" which tells about the early settlements in Weber County, Utah, and an autobiography to the year 1849 when Moore's diary begins.

They are all men in service of the British government (in the United States Charge of Affairs), and correspond under the direction of the Queen of England. John Murdock autobiography and diary

Typescripts of a diary and an abridgement of diaries for the years from 1830 to 1859 and 1832. Murdock joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1830 and lived in Kirtland, Ohio; Missouri; Nauvoo, Illinois; and Salt Lake City, Utah. He had numerous assignments for the Church and migrated to Utah in 1847. He participated in Zion's Camp in 1834 and went on a mission to Australia from 1852 to 1853.

James Mills Paxton autobiography

Paxton was born in England, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1854, migrated to Utah in 1863, worked in Parowan in 1864, moved to Panguitch in 1865, participated in the Black Hawk War against the Indians, and learned masonry at Toquerville in 1867. He also presents a copy of his patriarchal blessing.

George Pectol autobiography

Scope and Contents Photocopies of a holograph document. The item purports to be a diary but was written retrospectively. Pectol tells of his conversion to the Mormon faith, the emigration of his family by wagon to Utah, and early settlement in Manti, Utah. The accounts often sermonize about the veracity of the Mormon Church and comment on its history.
