Typewritten condensation of an autobiography and a diary. The item was shortened by Robinson's granddaughter, Rena Robinson Cutler. Joseph Robinson writes about his conversion to the Mormon Church in 1836, his migration to Utah in 1848, his opinions of the Mormon doctrine of polygamy, and his settling in Weber County, Utah.

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries. The original items are housed in two boxes while the photocopies of these materials are housed in three. There are many gaps in the entries including a sixteen-year gap from 1861 to 1877. Savage writes about his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to "Siam" (Thailand) from 1852 to 1856. Photocopies of handwritten and typewritten genealogies, histories, biographies, and diaries. Most of the materials relate to Mormons in Emmett, Gem County, Idaho. Also included are diaries by James Smithies (1807-1879) and John Scott (1811-1876). Smithies' diary covers the years from 1846 to 1847 when he migrated to Utah. Scott's diary covers the years from 1855 to 1856 when he was serving on a mission in Great Britain for the Mormon Church.

John Scott diary

Typewritten copy of a diary. Scott kept the first part of this diary in 1847 and in 1848 when preparing to migrate from Winter Quarters, Nebraska to Utah. He also kept his diary from 1855 to 1856 while serving on a mission for the Mormon Church in Ireland. Also included is a patriarchal blessing given to Scott.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of handwritten lists. One item is dated 30 June and presents the names of the passengers of the 'Horizon' that left from Liverpool, England, in 1856. The 856 entries include the names, occupations, and ages of the passangers and where they were born. Many of the passangers on the 'Horizon' were Mormon immigrants who migrated to Utah in the ill-fated Martin handcart company later that year.
