Kristine Jesse collected personal narratives of lore about black people from the perspective of white people. Included are stories of women being unnecessarily frightened by black men entering an elevator, stereotypes of black people, and childhood memories about racist comments. Paul Michael Mugerian collected personal narratives of lore surrounding people who sell women's shoes. Included are stories of initiation tricks and pranks, customer personifications, stories of sexual harassment, and stories of feet that were difficult to find shoes for. Christopher E. Garrett collected stories of life on an Oregon farm as narrated by the three Henrikson sisters: Rose Ann, Valeda, and Heidi. Included are stories of pets and horses on the farm, entertainment and holidies, working on the farm, and a massive storm that hit the farm one Columbus day.
