The Scottish play : the curse of Macbeth and BYU theatre students / Marianne Hales, 1994
Marianne Hales collected personal narratives about the curse of Macbeth as told by Brigham Young University theatre students. Included are stories about accidents that occured when the name "Macbeth" was spoken in a theatre, injuries sustained by cast and crew members during productions of Macbeth, and miscellaneous other theatre superstitions. Project was written for an English 391 class taught at Brigham Young University during Fall semester 1994.
The Seaman way : family folklore / Melissa Perkins, 1995
Melissa Perkins collected personal narratives about folklore in her mother's family, the Seamans. Included are the beliefs that a good dinner must always have four different things on the plate (bread doesn't count), meat should be eaten with chili sauce, and dishes should be washed in a certain order (glasses, silverware, plates, pots and pans). Project was written for an English 391 class taught at Brigham Young University during Fall semester 1995.

McOmber writes about stories from missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints dealing with persons who were readily converted to that faith.
The search for Kokopelli : finding meaning from rock images and myths that are up to 1800 years old that can be used in elementary school musical drama / Pamela Allen, 1997
Allen collected folklore surrounding kokopelli, ancient petroglyphs and rock images of a humpbacked flute player found throughout the southwest. Included are speculations about the meaning of the symbol, applicable myths of the Hopi Indians, and pictures of kokopelli variations. The project was written for Dr. Rudy's English 590R class taught at Brigham Young University in 1997.
The search for the ever-elusive Herbie Schwartz / Donald R. Bowen, 1979
Submitted by BYU student Donald R. Bowen for his Winter 1979 English 392 class. About the Herbie Schwartz joke and the various versions of it. Contains a cover essay, autobiographical sketch, informant list, and informant items. Items include jokes where the name Herbie Schwartz is used, the same style of joke with another main character, and a real Herbie Schwartz joke.
