Material contains papers regarding Ross D. Thruber's service in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Includes two copies of a brief account entitled "Two Promises Kept, Two Missions Fulfilled," in which Ross Thurber relates several times when he saw the power of prayer. File also contains Thurber's biographical data form, two letters written by Thurber to other members of his crew fifty-five years after the war, and photocopied photographs. He describes his service in Australia and New Guinea after having been trained in Bakersfield, California and Chandler, Arizona. Materials contain an account of the combat experiences of Royal R. Meservy in the U.S. Army during World War II. Discusses his division's positions in Ardennes and on the Siegfried line. Describes being captured and taken to the Stalag IX-B prisoner-of-war camp and the living conditions, the mental stress, and fear at the camp. Devotes large portion to Meservy's involvement with religious groups in his unit. Dated 2000-2002.
