Tolton also describes his experiences during the Black Hawk War (Utah) and frontier life in Utah. His account goes into great detail about his involvement in territorial and state politics, his business ventures, family life, and his mission to Great Britain for the Mormon Church.
Greeting to counselor George W. Larkin on the fiftieth anniversary of his birth
The folder contains a photocopy of a printed poem dedicated to George W. Larkin, a patriarch for the Mormon Church in the Weber Stake in 1898.
John Henry Hayes autobiography
Handwritten autobiography with a photocopy of the item. The item was written as an autobiography with yearly summaries of activities. Hayes migrated to Utah in 1862 and lived in Spanish Fork, Utah, during the Black Hawk War with the Ute Indians. Hayes was a Mormon polygamist, served on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England, and lived in numerous places and had numerous occupations in Utah.
