Scope and Contents Photocopies of handwritten and printed certificates, applications, correspondence, patriarchal blessings, and miscellaneous items. Most of the materials relate to Nelson's militia activities in Nauvoo, Illinois and in Utah. They include certificates relating to his various military appointments and applications for pensions relating to his military service. A few items relate to the "Walker War" (1853-1854) with the Ute Indians. A few of the materials were signed by the Mormon Church leaders...

Silas Hillman autobiography and financial records

Scope and Contents

Handwritten autobiography of Hillman describing his conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his later experiences. He writes about the persecutions and problems the Mormons faced in Kirtland, Ohio, Missouri, and Nauvoo, Illinois. He also writes about encounters with Ute Indians during the 1850s following his migration to Utah. Also included are family financial records. Collection includes photocopy of materials.

History of James and Rhoda Leach Nease Guyman

Collection includes typewritten copies of family histories, correspondence, and biographies believed to have been compiled by Rachel Maretta Homer Crocket. The materials relate to the Homer and Crockett families that were associated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many years. The items cover a wide range of topics over many years. Included are biographies of Russell King Homer, William Harrison Homer, and Rose Homer Widtsoe.

Collection includes handwritten and typewritten research notes, articles, genealogies, diaries, and biographies. Also included is Homer family correspondence. The family members lived in Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. The notes relate to Homer's research on Martin Harris (1783-1875). Also included is a diary Homer's father, William Harrison Homer, Sr., kept while he was on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England from 1867 to 1868.

William Henry Hooper letter

Handwritten letter addressed to the "Hon. E. Smith, Probate Judge for Great Salt Lake Co." Hooper states that he is submitting an inventory of the estate of the late Almon Whiting Babbitt. The estate items were to be set apart for the use of the deceased's widow and family.
