William Decatur Kartchner autobiography

Handwritten autobiography. Kartchner writes about his early life in Pennsylvania; joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1843 and subsequently moving to Nauvoo, Illinois; and his migration to Utah in 1847. He lived in serveral places in Utah and settled in Arizona. Also included is a partriarchal blessing for Etta Kartchner.

Thomas Wright Kirby autobiography and diary

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography and diary. These materials were created when Kirby was in the territorial penitentiary of Utah for polygamy. Kirby was born in England, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1852, performed missionary work in England, migrated to Utah in 1863 where he lived in several different places, took additional wives, joined the United Order, and went to prison for polygamy. Handwritten letters dated 1866 and addressed to Kuhn's parents and to other friends and family members. The items were written in Nebraska, Wyoming, and Utah. Kuhn tells about his experiences on the Oregon and the California trails. He writes about meeting Mormons in Salt Lake City and elsewhere in Utah and gives his impressions of them.

Hans Peter Larsen autobiography

Handwritten letter in pencil. The item was addressed to Martha's uncle, Harison Laurence, of Selma, Illinois, and was postmarked March 28 of an unspecified year.
