Jacqueline Atkinson collected personal narratives about prank folklore of sister missionaries in Japan serving for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Included are stories about sisters sticking marshmallows to elders bikes, stuffing wasabi into cookies to get back at elders who played a prank on two sisters, and covering a missionary's birthday cake with shaving cream. Project was written for an English class taught at Brigham Young University in 1998.

Taylor collected initiation stories involving food told by missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Included are stories of greenies (new missionaries) having to drink an entire gallon of milk in one hour without throwing up, being asked to drink a cup of coffee (really a coffee substitute), and being served a "greenie breakfast" of entirely green food.
