Materials contain an audio cassette of an oral interview with Delos Richards conducted by Don Norton. Contains the life sketch of Richards and his parents and grandparents. Also contains his personal history of his service near the end of World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps and his experiences after the war working for the United States nuclear program. Materials include interview with Dennis Beebe recounting her father's experiences as a medic in North Africa during World War II. She talks about her father's training in Texas and his dislike for working with female nurses. Recalls that her father wanted to be an engineer rather than a medic and describes pictures she’s seen of her father in Egypt. Also describes their diet and talks about how difficult it was to stay sane while waiting for action. Dated October 2003.
