Materials contain a transcribed interview of Dennis E. Holden regarding his service in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1969. In this interview, conducted by G. Shoonover, Holden talks about growing up in southern California, and enlisting in the Marines. Describes his feelings about killing and death, intense battle situations, leadership experiences, and the way he was treated upon coming home. Talks about the change he experienced from the war, talking to his son about the war, his opinion on the Domino theory, and his belief that the war wasted lives for no visible gain. Finally talks about the Tet offensive and how the war continues to impact him and the world. Dated March 25, 1988.
