Includes a cassette tape of Hugh's compositions for harp performed by Marjorie.

Scope and Contents note Materials contain a short desription of Norman Ray Barker's experience in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Barker also included a poem about Iwo Jima that was written by a ship mate, photocopied photographs, and a history of the ship on which he served, the U.S.S. Bladen. Memoir describes being shipped out on the Iwo Jima campaign and watching the flag being raised on Mount Suribachi, and his experiences being involved in the Okinawa campaign in April. Materials contain an account in which Norval Turner tells briefly of his experiences in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a radio operator in World War II. Includes descriptions of his time in India, and how he traveled all the way around the world, through both the Suez and Panama Canals. Also included are several amusing and informative poems he wrote during or shortly after his service. Dated 1944-1946, approximately 2001.
