Brigham Young University (1903- ) is a university sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Provo, Utah.
Brigham Young University was established in 1903 in a renaming of Brigham Young Academy. Past and present Brigham Young University presidents include George H. Brimhall (1903-1921), Franklin S. Harris (1921-1945), Howard S. McDonald (1945-1949), (acting president) Christian Jensen (1949-1951), Ernest L. Wilkinson (1951-1971), Dallin H. Oaks (1971-1980), Jeffrey R. Holland (1980-1989), Rex E. Lee (1989-1995), Merrill J. Bateman (1996-2003), Cecil O. Samuelson (2003-2014), Kevin J. Worthen (2014-2023), and C. Shane Reese (2023- ).
Brigham Young University is owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as part of the Church Educational System (CES). The university is governed by a Board of Trustees, which, since 1939, has consisted of the First Presidency of the Church as well as other General Authorities or general officers of the Church appointed by the First Presidency. The Board of Trustees provides general direction and oversees the formulation of broad policies as well as the approval of all executive leadership and faculty appointments at the university. The Board of Trustees delegates to the University President the responsibility to conduct the operations of the institution and administer the policies enacted by the board. The President serves as the chief executive officer and general manager of the University. Between 1996 and 2014, the President of the university was also been a General Authority of the Church.
Brigham Young University has grown from a small academy to one of the world's largest private universities. Sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, BYU offers a unique educational environment that promotes learning by study and also by faith.

G. Robert Ruff printed ephemera, 1912-2011
Contains a variety of printed materials collected by G. Robert Ruff, including Brigham Young University campus newspapers, a BYU student's handbook, programs from campus activities, a brochure listing fallen BYU military personnel annotated by Ruff, a BYU staff directory, and other campus publications. George H. Hansen negatives, 1896-1972
Contains negatives of George Hansen at Utah State, family trips, and geology; Bessie Hansen with her family and friends; George's mission to England; findings of fossils, arrowheads, and interesting rocks; the trip to Indonesia; redistricting studies; fishing trips; artifacts from a trip to Mexico; Utah maps and documents; Utah gas and oil studies, soil profiles.
Richard L. Gunn album and photographs
Contains photographs, negatives, and a photograph album. The photographs are of Brigham Young University faculty, alumni, and buildings. The negatives are details of paintings. The photo album contains portraits of members of the "B" Natural Club in 1950. Dated 1950-1976.
George H. Hansen photograph collection
This is primarily a collection of original Hansen prints, slides, and negatives and also includes photographic albums belonging to George Hansen, Afton Allred Hansen, and Bessie Hansen.
Harold I. Hansen photographs
Collection contains 53 negative, two slides, and 540 prints (color or black and white) that document the life and career of Harold I. Hansen, particularly his direction of the Hill Cumorah Pageant.
William F. Hanson photographs
This collection contains 65 photographs and 102 negatives (and prints from those negatives) from William F. Hanson. Most of the photographs and negatives are duplicates of material found in the William F. Hanson Papers (MSS 229) and the William F. Hanson Collection (MSS 3340). The images are mainly of Indian opera productions composed by Hanson and of the Ute Indians of Colorado and Utah, as well as several photographs of William F. Hanson himself.
Franklin Stewart Harris photographs
Contains photographs and lantern slides taken by Harris while on multiple trips around the world and in the western United States between 1910 and 1954. He used many of them as illustrations in books and articles that he published.
Bertrand Fereday Harrison lantern slides and negatives
The glass lantern slides were taken by Bertrand F. Harrison in the 1930s and 1940s, and contain pictures of plants and other biological specimens related to Utah. The negatives collection includes twenty-five small, round metal containers of 35mm film, and one cassette tape. Labels on film canisters include references to Zion's Park, St. George, natural bridges, Chicago, Aspen Grove, Midway, Yellowstone Park, the Uintah Mountains, and various other Utah locations.
