It contains accounts of his experiences in World War II through journal entries, as well as his experiences at Brigham Young University where he served as Student Body President in 1946.
Communique
Photocopies of a typewritten military communique from the Allied Powers to the Japanese government probably dated August 15, 1945. The item presents some conditions as well as a procedural itinerary relative to the Japanese surrender to the Allies.
Philip St. George Cooke letter
Handwritten letter dated 8 March 1886. Cooke responds to a request to give an account his part in the Utah Expedition, 1857-1858, during which a federal army entered Utah. Cooke writes about the march, the wintering at Fort Bridger, Wyoming, the establishing of Camp Floyd, Utah, and about his conversatins with Albert Sidney Johnston, who led the expedition.

Handwritten and signed letter, dated November 18, 1846, and addressed to Benjamin Cooper of Saline County, Missouri. Cooper writes about the activities of the United States Army under the command of A. W. Doniphan.
