Contains letters sent by WWII naval officer William Graydon Watrous to his family, while serving in the war in India and other locations. Also includes a photocopy of a scrapbook of newspaper clippings kept by his mother, Adeline Ruland Watrous, during the war. Also includes military documention and research collected by his son, Steven B. Watrous, and by William Graydon Watrous on William's service. Materials dated 1940 to 2007.

Materials contain a transcript and a photocopy of a newspaper article describing Wayne J. Bowen's military experiences at both Okinawa and Peleliu in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. The newspaper article is from The Daily Herald in 1995 and the article is titled "On anniversary, veteran relives Okinawa" by Pat Christian. Also contains a photocopied photo of soldiers reading the newspaper with the headline of "Hitler Dead." Dated 1945, 1995.
