Lorin Farr papers

Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a letter dated September 16, 1850 and addressed to Brigham Young, president of the Mormon Church, requesting advice concerning the shooting of Terikee, a Shoshoni Indian, by a Mormon. He was murdered near the city of Ogden. Also included is an autobiographical sketch dated 1860 containing information on Farr's life, occupation, and church service.

Winslow Farr autograph book

Scope and Contents This manuscript is a photocopy of Farr's autograph book. The book was apparently circulated among the inmates at the Utah Penitentiary who had been incarcerated for polygamy. Many of these individuals were important Mormon Church leaders on the local level, but one entry was by George Q. Cannon, a high official in the church.
