Scope and Contents Photocopies of handwritten diaries. Bennion writes about his life in the Taylorsville area of Utah and in Rush Valley and Long Valley, Utah. He also lived for a time in Nevada. Bennion was married polygamously, participated in the Utah War of 1857-1858, had an encounter with an Indian in 1858, saw the first handcart company arrive in Salt Lake City in 1856, served on a mission to England for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and participated in many other activities.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a handwritten diary. The original journals are in four volumes and are located in the LDS Church Library-Archives in Salt Lake City, Utah. Berrett was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England who served on a mission for that faith in his native country. Berrett writes about his daily activities as a Mormon and as a missionary in England.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript. The item is "extracts from missionary experiences. Copied from original diary owned by Delbert Bigler, Provo, Utah." The extracts start in 1853 when Bigler was on a mission for the Mormon Church in Hawaii. He writes about a smallpox epidemic and missionary experiences. He returned to Utah in 1855. Scope and Contents Photocopy of a typescript of an autobiography. Bigler writes about his relationship with the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith (1805-1844), his life in Nauvoo, Illinois, his migration to Utah, and his life in Nephi, Utah. Bigler served on a mission for the Mormon Church in Ireland and was active in Mormon Church activities in Nephi.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilm copy of handwritten diaries and correspondence. Bigler was a bishop for the Mormon Church in Nephi, Utah. He also served as a member of the Utah territorial legislature and was mayor of Nephi. Bigler served as a Mormon missionary to Ireland and as president of the European Mission for that same faith. The collection also includes correspondence between Bigler and family members mostly when he served as a missionary in Ireland.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a handwritten diary kept from 21 May 1855 to 3 Oct. 1855. Billings was called to serve as a missionary to the Ute Indians in the Elk Mountain area of southeastern Utah. After some initial success the Mormon missionaries were forced to leave by the Indians. Also included are Billings' financial records from the 1850s and 1860s.
