Josephine Hinckley Bentley was one of the first sister missionaries to serve in California. The Josephine Hinckley Bentley mission diary includes the photocopied account of Josephine's mission to California. The diary is from 1913 and includes information about Josephine's daily activities as a missionary including information about her associates and especially her love of singing. (She was a soloist for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir).

Biographcial History
Josephine Hinckley was born on August 5, 1887, in Fillmore, Millard County, Utah, to Ira Noble Hinckley and Lilian King. She was a sister missionary in California in 1913. She married Leroy Bentley on August 19, 1914, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She and Leroy had six children. She passed away on May 10, 1978, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
