Biographical History

William Dewey Farnsworth (1921-2014) was an American military pilot and manager in Utah.

William Dewey Farnsworth was born on April 10, 1921 in Colonia Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico to William Jefferson Farnsworth and Mary Margaret McGinty. Raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was baptised in 1929. He attended El Paso High School in Texas before joining the United States Navy in 1943. During his time in the Navy he served as a naval aviator and participated in World War II and the Korean War.

Following World War II he married Glenona Robison in Mesa, Arizona in 1948. They had nine children.

After retiring from the Navy they moved to Provo, Utah where Farnsworth worked at Brigham Young University. During his thirteen years at the university he served in managerial roles in Media Services, the Motion Picture Studio, and KBYU.

Farnsworth passed away on May 17, 2014 in Provo, Utah.
