The Southern States Mission (1867-1971) provided religious instruction for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and parts of Ohio.

Contains photographs, diaries, an account book, an address book and weekly reporting missionary books from Gerald N. Christiansen's mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northwestern States Mission from 1918-1920. Also contains a few documents from various points in Gerald N. Christiansen's life dated 1909-1967.
Frank S. Griffin papers
Contains eight journals and record books produced by Frank S. Griffin documenting his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to North Carolina in the Southern States Mission. Materials date from approximately 1913 to 1915.

J. Warren Johnson papers
The collection contains the journals of J. Warren Johnson before and after his mission to the Southern States during the years 1895-1899. It also contains the journals while he was serving as a Mutual Improvement Missionary in Wasatch County, Utah. The Journals are organized chronologically. The collection contains material on the Southern States Mission during the years 1895-1899 and of the Mutual Improvement Program along the Wasatch front from 1901-1902.
Joseph B. Keeler family papers
Includes journals, biographical sketches, correspondence, articles, lesson manuals, published and unpublished manuscripts, photographs, and ephemera. The bulk of the material was created by Joseph B. Keeler's descendants, who used his papers as they compiled their published family history, "Build Thee More Stately" (1989). The collection focuses on family history, religion, education, and professional organizations.
Arvin and Jean Palmer collection of Palmer and Thomas family mission journals
Contains the missionary journals of Elijah Thomas Jr. to the Northwestern States, LeRoy Arthur Palmer to the Southern States, and Elijah and Mary Ann Petersen Thomas to the Spanish-American Mission. Also contains transcriptions of the diaries. Materials date from 1907-2013.
