Biographical history
Abraham Owen Smoot III (1879-1937) was a grandson of Utah pioneer A. O. Smoot, and an educator and politician in Utah.
Abraham Owen Smoot III was born September 9, 1879 in Provo, Utah, to Electa Bullock Smoot and Abraham Owen Smoot II. He attended school at Brigham Young Academy (1892-1897). He served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States mission (1899-1901). On August 17, 1904 he married Phebe Jemima Campbell. They had five children. He worked as an educator, postmaster, and politician, including time as the Provo City Mayor (1933-1935). He died in Provo, Utah on July 16, 1937.

Jeannine Madsen Beck is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah.
Jeannine Madsen Beck was born in approximately 1941 to Vera Smoot and Raymond Madsen. She was married to Larry Robinson Beck and they had six children together. They later divorced. She is the granddaughter of Abraham Owen Smoot III.
