Scope and Contents

Account of his activities as a Latter-day Saint missionary, primarily in Florida, part of the Southern States Mission. Collection also includes a photocopy and typescript of each volume, prepared by the Department of Special Collections and Manuscripts at Brigham Young University. The third volume includes poetry, song lyrics, scripture references, and financial and other notes. A list of persons baptized by Gunn and a missionary companion, September 1906-March 1907, is included at the end of the first volume. Also includes a postcard addressed to Gunn's wife, December 1909.

Volumes span the following dates: (1) 1906 May-1907 Apr. (2) 1907 Apr.-1908 Jan (3) 1908 Mar.-July.

Custodial History

Pat Hansen, a granddaughter of Thomas W. Gunn and Eliza Ann Anderson, received the journals from her grandmother after Thomas W. Gunn's death. Hansen donated the journals to Brigham Young University on April 28, 1998.
