William and Carol travel across the country on a church history tour. William's sister Luell agrees to be put in a rest home.

William and Carol celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. William's family helps Heather move into a new home with her children away from her husband. William's granddaughter Bayley falls out of a moving car, but receives minimal injuries. William and Carol welcome two new grandchildren.

His daughter-in-law Jeannete has a miscarriage. The wife of William's late son gets remarried.
