Hyrum Jenkins Smith diaries and correspondence
Diaries and correspondence. Hyrum's correspondence is between family members and church leaders including his father, who was serving as a mission president in Canada, and Frederick Madison Smith (1874-1946), historian for the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Israel A. Smith letters
Typewritten and signed letters addressed to "Dear Brother," Frank S. Hawkins. Smith acknowledges receiving materials from Hawkins and comments on the "Book of Commandments" (Doctrine and Covenants) and on Paul, the apostle.
Jehovah Smith letter
This collection is a photocopy and a typescript of a missive written to the "Editor of the Carthage Republican" on 5 April 1867. The letter affirms the report that the Reorganized Mormon Church was "bound (by secret oaths) to rebuild the temple in less than five years."
Joseph B. Smith letter
Photocopy of a typewritten and signed letter dated January 5, 1923 and written in Salt Lake City, Utah. The item is addressed to Smith's son in Lofgreen, Utah. Smith writes about the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and about David Hyrum Smith, one of its prominent leaders.
Joseph Byron Smith correspondence
Typewritten letter dated 24 May 1962 and addressed to the editior of the "Saint's Herald" of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Smith writes in response to an article in the Saint's Herald about the Mormon Church in Utah relating to its stand on Blacks holding the priesthood. Smith refers to several verses of scripture to show that the stand is correct. A letter acknowleding Smith's letter is also attached.

Contains several documents relating to Joseph Byron Smith's family history and the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint. Includes a letter to the editor written by Smith and its response, a couple of letters from Smith's father, Joseph Bailey Smith, regarding family history, and documents relating to the Joseph Smith, Sr. Family Reunion, such as invitations and information. Dated 1923-1975.
