Mexican military certificates
Army promotion: "... En atencion a los meritos y servicios del C. Manuel Echeverria ..." and a document putting a soldier on quarter pay in the reserve for ten years: "... El presidente de la Republica, concede licencia ilimitada..." Both are signed by the war minister, Mariano Arista.
King of Spain Philip II military communique
Handwritten letter on parchment addressed to Philip II of Spain from the captain of the royal army. The item is a report on the war in the Netherlands. The author suggests that the Netherlands should not be kept so isolated since they could be an easy target for Spain's enemies. It is also suggested that the Church should be informed that some of its priests are assisting the rebellion.
Utah Militia orders
Handwritten and signed Utah Militia orders covering the period 1852-1866. All documents were written by or to David Moore (1819- ). Items concern resignations, courts martial, supply matters, and general administration.

Typewritten book draft. Brandes tells the history of various military posts and forts in Colorado largely in the nineteenth century. The item was submitted to the Old Army Press for publication.
