Two typewritten and signed letters, dated 12 Nov. 1897 and 1 Jan. 1898. The earlier missive is addressed to "Mr. Goss" whom Barton thanks for some suggestions on how to improve his writings. The other item is addressed to Barton O. Aylesworth. Barton responds to a request for autobiographical information.

Handwritten and signed letter, dated 3 Nov. 1901, and addressed to "Dear Sir," probably Barton O. Aylesworth. Burton lists some of his recent publications. Also included is a typed, form letter sent by Aylesworth to Burton upon which Burton wrote responses to the inquiries in the missive. With these materials is an envelope in which the items were sent. Also included is a portrait of Burton clipped from a magazine.

Scope and Contents Three handwritten and signed letters, an envelope and a portrait of Bierce clipped from a magazine. Bierce writes to "The Combined Press" on 15 Dec. 1895 relating to a request for a short story. Bierce also writes to Barton O. Aylesworth on 18 Nov. 1901 in response to a request for biographical information stating that all the relevent material can be found in "Who's Who in America." Also included is the envelope in which this note was sent. Bierce writes to "Dear Neale" on 16 June 1912...

Phtocopy of a handwritten and signed letter, dated 27 April 1819, and addressed to Galignani (?) of Paris, France. Byron complains that a book, "The Vampire," was not written by him even though his name appears on it and requests that his name be taken off. Also included is a photocopy of a handwitten and signed note thanking someone in behalf of Mrs. Byron. The item is undated. With the collection is a photocopy of an undated etching portrait of Byron.

Handwritten and signed letter, dated 24 June 1838, and addressed to "Mr. Lucas." Cambell writes about his health and mentions "I have finished the preface to Shakspeare & begun to the Life of Petrarch." Also included is a handwritten and signed letter addressed to "dear Madam." The item is not dated. Cambell writes that he regrets he cannot dine with her. With the collection is an undated etching portrait of Campbell.

Scope and Contents Handwitten and signed letter, dated 21 Nov. 1866, and addressed to Henry Brokmayer, perhaps Henry Conrad Brokmayer, an American author. Botta accepts election a member of the "St. Louis Philosophical Society." Also included is a handwritten and unsigned noted dated 6 April of an unspecified year.
