Topics include the alottment of Perpetual Emigration Funds for pioneers traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah, the persecution of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Missouri, and the settling of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in St. George, Utah. Materials dated 1852 to 1888.

Brigham Young letter to Rufus C. Allen
Photocopy of a handwritten letter dated 1 March 1857 and addressed to Refus C. Allen. Young writes about protection against the Indians, presenting a good example for the Indians, and gives his approval for a school for Indian children.

Church Committee letter to Governor William Owsley
Contains a photocopy and transcription of a 4-page letter from Brigham Young and others (on behalf of the Church Committee) to "His Excellency" Governor William Owsley of Illinois, petitioning for more time to prepare to leave Nauvoo, dated April 30, 1845.
