Materials include photographs and prints taken by Walter P. Cottam throughout Utah between approximately 1920 and 1940. The subjects of these photographs include landscapes, close shots of flowers and other plants, photographs of buildings, and photographs of people on hikes, fishing, or doing other similar activities. Materials also include 96 negatives that correspond to prints in the collection. Materials also include oversize prints on the same subjects.

Collection contains materials documenting the experience of J. L. Crawford while he served as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II. It tells of his travels form Fort Douglas to the European war front and his experience touring Europe with the Thunderbird division.
