Biographical History

George A. Clark (1866-1949) was a lawyer in Connecticut and the West.

George Ashville Clark was born on March 27, 1866 in Meriden, Connecticut to Edwin B. Clark and Cornelia Maria Pratt. The attended high school in Meriden, and then studied law at Yale University. He graduated with a bachelor's of law in 1887 and began practicing in his home town of Meriden. In 1894 he took the position of general counsel for the Parrot Mining Company in Butte, Montana, staying with the firm until 1900. He remained in Butte until 1902, then working in Seattle, Washington (1902-1904) and Tonopah, Nevada (1904-1906) before returning to Meridan, Connecticut. He remained in Meridan working in private practice until his death on February 17, 1949.
