Handwritten copybook copy of a resolution. The item was signed by Brigham Young and W. H. Hopper. The document states that the seat of government in Utah should be moved from Fillmore to Salt Lake City due to a lack of facilities in Fillmore.

Abstract The folder contains a photograph of a printed broadside and a photonegative of the item. Young writes to the "Citizens of Utah" and warns them that an "armed, mercenary mob" is marching against them in 1857. He outlines the Mormons' grievances against the federal government and states that they are being unjustly persecuted. He forbids all armed forces from coming into Utah "under any pretence whatever," orders that the forces of the territory be ready to march "at a moment's notice" to...

Handwritten and signed letters dated 6 April 1874 and 15 Sept. 1887. The 1874 missive is addressed to settlements "southeast of St. George," Utah, and relates to the mission of the the Mormon Church to the Indians of Moencopi. The 1887 letter is addressed to George Alfred Townsend and relates to Townsend's disire to come to the West U.S.
