Grant (1816-1856), speaker of the house. The item specifies that money be paid to support the Utah Territorial Library.

Handwritten and signed letter addressed to Orson Pratt (1811-1881). Smith states that "An act to amend an act amendatory and supplementary to the Charter of St. George City Approved Feb. 21 1868" had been passed by the legislature of Utah Territory.
A. O. Smoot affidavit
Handwritten affidavits sworn before Smoot as mayor of Provo, Utah. The manuscript was apparently recorded by Smoot who seems to be responsible for much of its wording. The item deals with disturbances by United States soldiers in Provo, Utah.
