George Corn Jr. deposition
Handwritten legal document written in Lexington, Kentucky which was taken in evidence in the case of Robert Daniel et al. vs. Stephen Trigg's Estate before the Kentucky Supreme Court. Concerns Daniel's activities in relation to property of the estate which included slaves and horses.

Arthur B. Cort letter
The folder contains a handwritten letter dated 5 May 1884 and addressed to Clara Jane Riding. Cort informs Riding that he would strike her name from the list of registered voters if she did not come to the court house and take the appropriate oath against the practice of "bigamy."

Mary A. Hicks interview with Mandy Coverson
Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript of an interview. Coverson was interviewed by Mary A. Hicks in 1937 as part of the Federal Writer's Project for the Works Progress Administration. The item includes handwritten corrections. Coverson was a child when her mother died, and she was raised in the plantation house. She describes the Union Army briefly, talks about the Ku Klux Klan, and gives thanks for her freedom.
