Letters, envelopes, and a brochure, 1892-1903
Two handwritten and signed letters, addressed to Barton O. Aylesworth, composed in Boston, Massachusetts, and dated 4 Dec. 1902 and 2 Jan. 1903. Allen informs Aylesworth where he may find biographical information on himself. Allen also lists some of his recent publications. The envolopes used to send these letters are found with the collection.

The little misery
Handwritten draft of an unpublished short story with corrections. The date of the composition is uncertain. Also included is a signed letter written to a Mr. Wall in 1929 that deals with the publication of a story by Chambers called "The Happy Parrot."
Lowell Thomas letters
Typewritten copies of letters, essays, and news reports broadcast on radio. Thomas comments on United States' and world affairs and describes the numerous areas he visited. These materials were assembled by Hack Miller for the "Deseret News" newspaper in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Joachim Maass letter
Handwritten and signed letter, dated 27 April 1940, was written in New York City, and is believed to have been written to the German author, Thomas Mann. The item is written in German. Maass recommends his latest book to Mann.

Handwritten and signed letter from Sidney J. Marshall to Arthur Westbrook in the government printing office in Washington, D.C. Marshall offers to sell "electrotype" plates to Westbrook used in publishing Marshall's book, "King of Kor."
Myron Adams letter to Barton O. Aylesworth, 1894
Typewritten and signed letter, written from "62 State St., Rochester, N. Y.," and mailed on October 16, 1894. Adams writes in response to a letter from Barton O. Aylesworth requesting information on his life. Adams briefly outlines his life and states, "To say more would be to burden you with useless information,- and to run the risk of telling nice things about myself."

Two handwritten and signed letters. One was written to Mary Jameson Judah thanking her for a gift. The other, written to John M. Judah, describes a sailing poem.

Handwritten and signed letter, dated December 3, 1897, addressed to Barton Orville Aylesworth, and composed in Boston, Massachusetts. Adams thanks Aylesworth for "your volume, 'Song and Fable'" and mentions his own book "Dictionary of American Authors."

Also included is the envelope in which the item was sent. With the colleciton is a booklet entitled, "The Success of Miss Jerry: the First Picture Play by Alexander Black" and a advertisement for "Miss America" by Black.
