The history begins with Frank Aldridge's great-grandfather, Joseph Aldridge, relates the involvement of the Aldrideg family in the early history of the Mormon Church, and ends shortly after Frank's retirement in 1965. Aldridge also tells of his experiences in World War I.

Collection includes twenty-one letters written by Gerald Leander Butler to his sister Eva May Butler Israelsen, which document his experiences in the United States Army and discuss family events and news. Also includes photographs of Butler with fellow soldiers and officers; images of Butler's Army garrison; various San Diego beach scenes; and an image of the San Diego YMCA building.

Typescript of a diary. Young kept his journal from 22 April 1918 to 13 May 1919 which was the time of his military service. Young was drafted into the United States Army and served with the 91st "Wild West" Division which landed in France in July 1918 and returned to the United States in April 1919. Young's entries are often lengthy and highly detailed. He describes his experiences in training and in combat and the various activities of the soldiers.

Scope and Contents Transcript of an interview conducted by Stan Burnett on 31 Jan. 1985 for the Ray Hillam war project. Farnworth was inducted into the military at Camp Fremont, California. He contracted influenza in 1918. He served as a guard in France, and went to Camp Lincoln after the war to guard Afro-Americans. Farnworth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had five cousins that also served in the war, and two of them died. He said that he and his brother received...

This collection consists of photocopies of Hyer's diaries. Hyer was called as a Mormon missionary to serve in the Society Islands and labored there from 1912 to 1915. From 1914 to 1915 he served as mission president of the Society Islands Mission. He was a soldier during World War I but saw no action being in Wales when the armistice was signed.

Forty-four handwritten and typed letters (131 leaves) by McDonald, mostly addressed to his mother. The letters primarily deal with personal and family matters including McDonald's experiences as a Mormon missionary in Pennsylvania and as a part of the American Expeditionary Force in France during World War I.
