Collection contains photocopies of the journal kept by John O. Swenson while serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Northwestern States Mission from 1885 to 1887.
Arthur L. Tanner papers
Handwritten correspondence, certificates, receipts, Article of Faith cards, and miscellaneous items. Most of the letters (over 50 items) were written by Tanner to his girl friend, May McLoughlin, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Tanner writes to "Miss McLoughlin" about his missionary activities and about personal matters. They were later married.q

Alma O. Taylor diaries
Handwritten diaries and two folders of correspondence and newspaper clippings. Taylor was called to serve on a mission to Japan for the Mormon Church in 1901. He presided over the Japan Mission from 1905 to 1910. A few diary entries were made between 1911 and 1946. Also included are correspondence relating to the mission and newspaper clippings about the work of translating the Book of Mormon into Japanese.

George Shepherd Taylor diaries
Handwritten diaries in ten volumes with a book of missionary expenses. Also included are a printed copy of the New Testament in the Maori language and a printed "ready reference" book of scriptures often used by Mormon missionaries in both English and Maori. Taylor writes about his daily activities in leading the mission.
