Walker collected traditions practiced by boys and girls after they kiss someone. Included are soda parties and a toast to the person who kissed, girls buying ice cream for their roommates, and a girl's dorm that would put on music from Fiddler on the Roof and "Mozzletoff", dancing around the living room in their bras with slips over their heads. Scope and Contents note Roberts explores how one individual's recollections of counsel received from her grandmother, mother, and stepfather cause her to pass it on to others. Most of the counsel was based on the ethnic background of her mother and grandmother, who are from Guatemala.
