What do pregnant women eat and why / Emily Lucinda Hull, 2005 December 8
Scope and Contents note
Hull examines the pregnancy eating habits of Caucasian members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through her interviews, Hull suggests that the motives and influences over a woman's diet during pregnancy are not as enigmatic and elusive as is often assumed. Some such motives and influences discussed include biological instincts, supportive spouses, authoritative sources of information and childhood or other comfort foods. In addition, the roles of religious convictions, social environment, number of other children and family constraints are examined as well. Created by Emily Lucinda Hull while enrolled in Jill Rudy's English 495 course during Fall Semester of 2005.
