Scope and Contents Cannonball found near the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Independence Stake Center and the Community of Christ Temple in Independence, Missouri, in approximately 1990. This solid shot, 2.75-inch projectile was likely fired by a Union Army Parrot Rifle during the Second Battle of Independence (October 21-22, 1864).On the morning of October 22, Union forces, under the command of Major General Alfred Pleasanton, pursued Confederate General James Fagan's brigades...
