This collection contains items such as letters, photographs, paintings, sketches, pamphlets, deeds, newspapers, stamps, coins, books, and other materials related to African American people's history in the 19th and 20th century, particularly relating to Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver. This collection also contains photographs, articles, programs, pamphlets, and other items concerning religious, particularly Latter-day Saint, history. The materials were collected by white historians William J. Curtis and Annette Wegner Curtis. Materials dated 1833 to 2008.
