The interview was conducted by David Jones on 14 August 1985 for Dr. Ray Hillam's Political Science 379R course at Brigham Young University. Roley talks about joining the U.S. Navy out of high school and describes his experiences while on ships off the coasts of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

Transcript of an interview conducted by S. Criss James on 26 Jan. 1985 for Ray Hillam's war project. Wolfley joined the United States Army in 1944 before he turned 17 years old. He was trained in demolition to destroy obstacles to allow landing craft to land on islands. He participated in the battle for Iwo Jima in 1945 and took part in the assault on Mt. Suribachi.
