Collection consists of letters related to the family of Lois Angeline Smith Bushman. Includes six letters: 1) letter from Bushman's grandfather, Benjamin Foscue, to her father, John Smith, dated July 4, 1849, expressing displeasure that Smith and his wife, Maria, Benjamin's daughter, were moving from Texas to Utah with the Mormons; 2) letter from Maria Foscue Smith, Goshen, Utah, to Lois Angeline Smith Bushman, dated May 7, 1877, asking her to come to Goshen to help take care of her mother's sister, Gussie, who was in poor health; 3) letter from John Bushman from Allen City, Yavaipai County, Arizona to his wife, Lois, in Lehi, Utah, dated June 24, 1877; 4) letter from John Bushman, presumably to his wife, Lois, dated July 2, 1877; 5) letter from John Bushman, Allens Camp [Arizona], to his wife, Lois, dated August 12, 1877; and, 6) letter from Lois Angeline Smith Bushman, Lehi, Utah, to her husband, John Bushman, dated November 11, 1877. John Bushman had been called to settle the area that became Joseph City, Arizona, and was there with his second wife while Lois stayed in Utah with the children.
