Lois Angeline Smith Bushman (1844-1921) was an early founder of St. Joseph, Arizona.

Lois Angeline Smith Bushman was born on January 25, 1844, in Little Rock, Arkansas to John Mitchell Smith and Maria Amanda Foscue. Her family relocated from Texas to travel to Utah with the pioneers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Along the journey, her father contracted cholera and died, leaving behind his wife and their four small children which included Lois. Once in Utah, the family settled in Lehi, Utah. While in Lehi, Lois met John Bushman and they were married on February 11, 1865, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together they had twelve children. In 1874 Lois and John were sent to establish the settlement of St. Joseph, Arizona. In 1902, Lois received a cash dowry of $500 from an uncle, which she used to open a dry goods store. The dry goods store was the first store in St. Joseph and served as a trading center for the Navajo Indians. Lois returned to Utah with her husband where they resettled in Lehi, Utah. She died on September 19, 1921, in Lehi, Utah.
