Administrative History

The Division of Media Production and Development (1975-1977) was an administrative and support unit at Brigham Young University. The division was responsible for film, television, photography, and broadcasting services at the university.

The Division of Media Production and Development was established in 1975 in a merger of Instructional TV, the Department of Motion Picture Production, Photography-Graphics, Radio and TV Broadcasting, and the Electronic Media Department. The unit oversaw the production of film, radio, television, and other media content on campus. In 1977 the division was renamed Media Productions.

The division was directed by Harold R. Hickman.
