Biography

The Earth Sciences Museum (1967-2009) was a museum at Brigham Young University. The museum provided educational displays, programming, and collection management services.

The Earth Sciences Museum was established in 1963 at Brigham Young University in a renaming of the Geology Museum. The museum was developed by James A. Jensen, and was located in the Eyring Science Center. It included displays of fossils, minerals, and rocks, with many of the samples coming from the Deseret Museum collection.

In 2009 the museum was renamed the Museum of Paleontology.

Directors and curators have included James A. Jensen (1963-1984), Wade E. Miller (1984-1995), Ken Stadtman (1995-2005), and Rod Scheetz (2005-2009).
